Not-for-profit Alert
As you may or may not be aware changes have been in the works regarding the development of a new
Not-for-prot Corporations Act (the “Act”). It has recently been announced that the new Act will come into
effect on Monday, October 17, 2011.



The Act applies to federally incorporated not-for-prot organizations (“NPOs”). Note however that a similar provincial act which would apply to those NPOs that are incorporated provincially as opposed to federally is currently being developed and is expected to be similar to the federal act.
